The way shipping at Fujisan works for magazines is this: They send large
shipments to their distribution centers which send them to the end customer.
The usual time from the date of publish (or when I place an order) is about
2 weeks until I receive my item in my mail box. There are faster shipping
options, but you will probably have to e-mail customer service to ask about
them.
To save money, you can group items together. The downside of this is that
you will have to wait until the last item is ready before they send you
anything. It's best to do this with items that are released within a 5 day
period.
When you set up an account, you have the ability to set your default
shipping selection to "together" or "separate." I recommend setting separate
as the default. If you wish to group items, add them individually to your
cart and then edit the shipping selection once your cart is complete.
Please look at their page explaining shipping charges:
http://www.fujisan.com/online/superstore/g...01004950101-7e~
and their page explaining exchange rates:

For all Special orders:
Go to
http://www.fujisan.com
Click the "English" button if you're Nihongo-challenged
You need the name of the publisher and/or
a magazine/ISBN code as well as an idea of how much the item should cost. If
Fujisan carries the magazine, you can search for this information using
their search bar.
Select Magazine, Book, or
whatever you're trying to find and specify whether you're entering the
title, product code, publisher, etc. It's often a good idea to just use a
small part of the title when searching because their search function doesn't
work very well.
If you can't find it on their site, you'll just have to search for the
information elsewhere.
For Magazine Special Orders:
Step 1
From Fujisan's main English page, click on the Magazine Special Order Form:
Step 2

a. Enter the Magazine name, Issue
Number (or Month), and when it goes/went on sale. Ignore how they tell you
to format it because their way can lead to confusion. It's best to supply
the date using a 3 letter abbreviation of the month, 2 digit number for the
day, and 4 digit number for the year.
Example: "Seventeen #23 (Sep 15th, 2006 Published)"
Example: "BiDaN October Issue (Sep 1st, 2006
Published)"
b. Tell them who the publisher is.
It is important, but not crucial. However, if you don't know the magazine
code, it would be best to find out who the publisher is. If you really can't
find out enter "unknown."
c. This one is crucial. If
you type one digit incorrectly, you will not receive the magazine you want.
If you have absolutely no idea what the code is (use their search bar before
giving up) just type "unknown."
Remember, though, that if you don't know the magazine code, you really
should try your best to find out who the publisher is. They need something
to go on other than a title and date that may or may not be correct.
d. Type in, to the best of your
knowledge, how much the item costs in yen and select whether that price
includes tax or not. I think magazines usually have the tax included in the
price shown. If you make a mistake here, they'll probably fix it for you.
This is mosly just so you can have an idea of how much it will cost when it
does ship.
e. How many do you want? (Note: I
think if you enter more than 1 here and select a subscription below, that
will give you that many subscriptions. So, don't do that unless you want 2+
copies sent every issue!)
f. You can choose to have them keep
on sending future issues. Having a subscription is mostly a convenience. It
can often help shorten the delivery time by a day or so. This does not make
the price cheaper, though. I prefer to just order the magazines a little
before their release date.
Here's an example of a completed form:

Step 3
Click on the add to cart button at the bottom of the form and you will be
brought to a screen with a table like this one:

If everything looks right, go
to check out. You will need to create an account if you don't already have
one. I shouldn't have to tell you how to do this. I will, however, remind
you that you should probably leave your shipping selection as "separate." If
you set it as "together," and order 2 or 3 items with different release
dates, none of them will be sent until the last one is ready.
If
everything looks okay, Click "Order" at the bottom and your order will be
processed.
If you do wish to group the items in your
cart together, look for this part of the table on your checkout screen and
click "edit":

Then look for this section and select "Together."
Now, click the button at the bottom that reads
"Next." Don't check the box above it because that will SAVE the setting
for all future orders!.
If everything looks okay, Click "Order" at the
bottom and your order will be processed.
